Flooring Procedures
STEPS for FLOORING
  1. Call Rick for an estimate for the cost of the floor.
  2. At time of estimate, Rick will leave you with a proposal.
  3. Agreement to the type of floor, any repairs, and finish are chosen.
  4. Service contract is written up and signed with dates agreed for start and completion of job.
  5. Payment of half down at the start, and half when job is completed.
  6. Rick is very safety concsious, and will do your project in a very neat and clean manner.
  7. Repairs to ceiling and wall will be done before beginning work on the floor.
  8. Choose oil base or water base finish. There are finishes which are oil base in content and finishes which are water base. Water base finishes dry faster and allow quick timeframes between coats, but is more expensive. Oil base is just as good, but the flash time is greater before the additional coats can be applied, which will increase the job timeframe. Altogether, a sealer is applied and 2 coats of finish to each floor.
  9. Choose type of finish. There are different types of sanding and preparations needed for the 3 basic types of finishing. The three basic finish types are satin, semi-gloss, and gloss. The finishes also have pricing differences, the more glossy the finish the more expensive the finish is to purchase. All stains are different prices and Rick is willing to discuss the details of each with you.
Rick works on one job at a time in order to guarantee the work is done thoroughly.
